Professional Group 13 - Steelworkers

The professional group OS 13 - Steelworkers consists of 166 members, qualified defectoscopists from the ranks of Třinecké železárny, a.s. and its subsidiaries. The scope of OS 13 Steelworkers covers a large part of the Czech Republic. Třinecké železárny is the largest steel producer in the Czech Republic, with an annual production of 2.5 million tonnes. Our main product is forgings, for which we have to guarantee the highest possible quality for surface and internal defects. Most NDT tests are carried out on automated lines; we perform manual and laboratory tests. The methods used form a wide range of NDT tests by EN ISO 9712 and SNT-TC-1A certification. The main objectives of OS 13 Steelworkers also include the fulfilment of the credit system for the renewal and recertification of certificates by EN ISO 9712. We are engaged in research and development, verifying the possibilities of experimental methods and innovative applications to achieve the maximum compromise. We attend professional conferences where we publish technical papers and discuss NDT issues.
